Easter Weekend

Easter was SUCH a blessing for us this year!  My parents and sister came to visit, along with Jenny's friend Jeanette, and a glorious time was had by all.  The older I get, and the more hectic our lives become (and man, oh man, is our life hectic right now!), the more I appreciate precious, precious moments with my family.  This weekend was certainly one of those precious times!

Saturday morning before Easter was our church Easter Egg Hunt.

This is sweet Mayce.... is she not the cutest????

When Robert had filled his basket, he resorted to pockets.....

His two favorite finds were a little rubber baseball (surprise!) and bubbles.  He was much more interested in that than the candy....

Bell's Chapel UMC..... our beautiful church in the wildwood.....

After we got home from the Easter Egg Hunt, Robert took a brief nap..... and then Grano and Boo arrived!  A little while later, Jenny and Jeanette pulled in.  Robert had a surprise for them that he had literally been planning all day!  A MARCHING BAND!  He was so excited to go inside and get out his instruments.....

His favorite is a tambourine that belonged to Agoo.....a very LOUD tambourine.....

The marching band marched up and down the driveway......

And then had a little concert on the front porch.....

Easter morning arrived, and the Easter Bunny found us......he actually came while we were eating lunch..... we had three services to manage on Sunday, so the Easter Bunny was kind enough to wait until church was over!

We waited until after church to hunt eggs, and had to do it during a rain break...... thus, the boots.

Our Easter celebration was full of beautiful spring flowers.....

We ended up decorating eggs on the front porch after the family had returned home.  It was also a quick session -- as we had tornado warnings going on off and on through the afternoon!  That worked out well, though, because a 2 year old's attention span is not that long for egg dyeing!

When we finished dyeing eggs, we noticed that Jenny had left her mark on the refrigerator.....

And the skies cleared for a little while, so Robert helped James "work" -- not sure what they were doing here, but it involved shining flashlights under the house.....

And Robert thought that Daddy must need some wood for their "work," so he brought some to him!

All in all, Easter was one for the books --- celebrating the risen Christ with those we love best.  It doesn't get any better than that!  Thanks for coming, Grano, Boo, Jenny, and Jeanette, and let's do it again next year!!!

  1. Great pictures! I love the rain boots and the stargazer lilies - one of my top 3 favorite flowers!
