Weekend Fun

This past weekend, we traveled to East Tennessee to visit James' mother. James wanted to deliver a freezer to her before our move to Nashville, and we decided to make a quick family trip out of it to give her a chance to see Robert because she hadn't seen him since May.

To give ourselves a peaceful 4+ hour drive over, we decided to leave Thursday night, hoping Robert would sleep most of the trip. Robert did fall asleep for the first half of the trip, but about 3 hours in, he woke up..... and stayed awake the rest of the way. By the time we arrived, it was after midnight. We stopped by James' mom's for a minute, because she had been waiting up for us, and let her see Robert. Instead of being tired and fussy like we had expected, Robert jumped down and started playing with the new bowling set she bought for him. They had a grand time playing in the floor for about a half hour - in the middle of the night! We finally got him settled down and back to sleep about 2 a.m., and he was awake BRIGHT and early at 6 the next morning! Needless to say, our idea of traveling at night really WORE US OUT!

Robert had a lot of fun visiting Nanny ("Na Na"), and we will be looking forward to the next visit! I would post some pictures of the fun, but I forgot the camera -- so better luck next time!
