I think I have mentioned before that Robert is very aware of everyone who comes and goes from his daycare. He loves to announce which child's mommy or daddy is coming through the door. In the mornings when we arrive at school, he will often note "Katherine's daddy" or "Emily's mommy" walking back out to their cars. His teachers have mentioned that he does this throughout the day when anyone enters the center.
You also need to know that Robert is very familiar with his buddy Garrett's mommy. Garrett's mommy is tall and has blonde hair. He has identified her at least 50 times for me.
Well, yesterday, the children were playing in the center's atrium (which is beside the front door). A very short lady with brunette hair came walking in. Robert ran up to Garrett and said, "Your mommy's here! Your mommy's here!" Garrett, of course, got quite excited, turned around to locate his mother, and instead saw the lady with brown hair. Robert looked at Garrett, threw his arms up in a shrugging fashion, and said, "That's not your mommy!!!"
Gotcha, Garrett! And I'm sorry that my little boy has apparently inherited his daddy's love of practical jokes!
