Let's Go Fly a Kite.... Up to the Highest Height

Spring is so close you can taste it, and after a rough winter of driving a 60 mile commute in ice and snow, we are ready!!

James and I drove separately today so that someone could get back to Carolyn before 7 p.m. or later (our usual time to arrive home on Thursdays).  That meant everyone ended up getting home early because I was able to go into work before the sunrise this morning. . .  When we got home, the weather was GORGEOUS, so we got in about 30 minutes of much-needed outside time.

We decided to break out the kite (a/k/a/ "flag") that James bought Robert a week or so ago.

Things started out well..... James showed Robert how to get things going....

Soon, though, Robert was more interested in our neighbor's dog, Max, and left the kite flying to Daddy.....

But soon, Daddy got the kite very high in the sky, and regained Robert's interest.  He handed the kite over to Robert just long enough for the inevitable to happen.....

Thankfully, I was able to freak out enough "talk him down" before he climbed the other 20 feet up to retrieve it..... in crocs......Hopefully, the storm headed our way this weekend will blow the kite down and we can try again with another one soon!
